ESPN 630 AM AND DC SCORES JOIN FORCES IN AN EXCITING MEDIA PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

Deal Establishes ESPN 630 AM As Media Partner for the SCORES Cup 23

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 29, 2023)ESPN 630 AM, the Sports Capitol, is excited to announce the launch of our official partnership with DC SCORES, a renowned youth development nonprofit, to promote the upcoming SCORES Cup 23. This collaboration marks an exciting milestone as the two entities unite to amplify the impact of  SCORES Cup on the greater Washington, D.C. area.

This partnership aims to leverage the strengths and resources of both organizations to raise awareness of the important work being done by DC SCORES in the community.

As part of this collaboration, ESPN 630 AM will provide media coverage of SCORES Cup 23, including pre-event social and digital promotions, live interviews, and an on-site presence at the event. The station’s reach and devoted listenership will further expand the reach and visibility of DC SCORES across Washington, D.C. and beyond.

SCORES Cup, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, is a soccer tournament fundraiser hosted annually by DC SCORES in which corporate teams from various sectors of the DC metro area face off in four separate 7-a-side divisions to be crowned champions of the DMV. And this year’s tournament is shaping up to be the largest in SCORES Cup history, with at least fifty teams expected to compete in an event that will feature special guest appearances from D.C United and the Washington Spirit! All proceeds of the event will go to serve more than 3,000 kids through DC SCORES’ after-school soccer, poetry, and service-learning programs.

“We are absolutely thrilled to join forces with DC SCORES in this partnership,” said Mike Callow, Assistant Program Director, ESPN 630 AM. “As a prominent voice in DC sports broadcasting, our station recognizes the importance of empowering youth and strengthening our communities. We look forward to using our platform to highlight the incredible work being done by DC SCORES, and contribute to their current success in the District.”

“Our organization is thrilled to be collaborating with ESPN 630 AM,” said Tony Francavilla, Chief Development Officer, DC SCORES. “This partnership will help us to amplify our message, connect with new audiences, and generate increased support for our programs. We’re excited to work with ESPN 630 AM to transform the District into a poet-athlete city.”
