DMV Spotlight shines a light on Banneker-Douglass Museum in Annapolis. The museum is dedicated to preserving African-American Heritage in Maryland and features a new exhibit on the ‘Black Vote Mural Project’ to illustrate the history of black men and then women for the right to vote. Guest Sabriyah Hassan, Director of Programs at the museum described the process to create the 16 murals featuring the artwork of artists from Maryland and DC. Hassan also described the permanent exhibit that celebrates African American history in Maryland dating back to 1633 . Ms. Hassan also talked about opportunities for guided tours, school groups, family reunions and others to gathers at the Banneker-Douglass Museum.
