DMV Spotlight on 11-20-22 shines a light on the Angel Tree program run by the Salvation Army.
Guest Major Mark Woodcock, Commander of the Salvation Army of the National Capital Area Command explains the Angel Tree program provides toys for children of struggling families. The Major explains Angel Tree has been around for 50 years. Donors can provide toys, clothing and other gifts requested by the family for the child. Families come and collect the gifts from the local warehouse and put the gifts under the tree. Major Woodcock says for many local children, it is the only gift they will receive.
