DMV Spotlight on 10-16-22 shines a light on Domestic Violence Awareness.
Guest, Montgomery County State’s Attorney, John McCarthy illustrates both the resources available for victims including children across the county as well as the challenges in prosecuting such crimes as many victims are unwilling or afraid to testify against husbands or boyfriends.
McCarthy pointing out that in 2021, 58 Marylanders lost their lives to Domestic Violence. McCarthy also noting the Montgomery County Family Justice Center provides access to all available services under one roof, from emergency shelter to long term housing to legal access to immigration services and assistance with children.
