DMV Spotlight shines a light on Parkinson’s Disease and efforts by the Parkinson Foundation National Capitol Area (PFNCA) to educate and support patients and their families and caregivers. Guest, Dr. Pritha Ghosh, a neurologist and clinical assistant professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Science, and expert in treating Parkinson’s , first discussed the increased risk Parkinson’s patients face in the midst of the coronavirus crisis. As a member of the Medical Advisory Board for PFNCA, Dr Ghosh also discussed using DBS, deep brain stimulation as a treatment for Parkinson’s. Dr. Ghosh also discussed how programs offered to patients are currently being offered online in the midst of coronavirus.
