DMV Spotlight on 1.5.2020 shines a light on the American Heart Association. With the new year often comes a renewed commitment to make healthy choices with a focus on heart health. Guests, Dr. Federico Asch, Cardiologist with MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute and guest, Rob Franklin, immediate past Board Chair of the American Heart Association and the founder of Morgan Franklin Consulting, explained the ongoing efforts of the American Heart Association to educate the public on everything from the dangers of vaping to food deserts to promoting healthy choices in schools and vending machines and raising research dollars to battle heart disease. Dr. Asch also drew the connections between the brain and heart with the vascular system that affects both as well as the warning signs of heart attack for men and women. Rob Franklin shared some of the top fundraisers coming up in the new year for the American Heart Association including the Greater Washington Heart Ball on February 22nd, 2020.
